Doordarshan Mumbai All Set for the Award Function

On 29th March,  DDK Mumbai was once again glittering and was witnessed  in an active mode. Celebs and VIPs from the Sindhi community had come to attend a special EVENT "Sahydri- Sahyog -Sindhu"awards organised by DD Sahyadri. On this  occasion 9  Sindhi Women who have excelled in various fields were honoured.

The chief Guest of the Evening was the Evergreen He Man of Bollywood Dharmendra. Veteran Parliamentarian Ram Jethmalani presided over the function. Others Celebs present at the award function were Ramesh Sippy (Of Sholey Fame), Arjun Hingorani (Ace Producer Director), Prahlaj Nihlani,Music Director Kalyanji Bhai and Ram Jawahrani of Sahyog Foundation.

The Musical evening had  Sindhi Ghajals from Ghanshyam Vaswani and others.
The icing on the cake was the felicitation of Shri Mukesh Sharma Addl DG DD by the Sindhi community with a Shawl and Traditional Sindhi Cap.

The award function will be telecast on DD Sahyadri on 11/03/13 coinciding with Cheti Chand the Sindhi New Year.

A New Beginning..Once again

DD Sahyadri became a 24 hours DD Marathi satellite channel in the year 2000. It remained the most successful regional channel till 2007. After that the descend started and by 2012 it was one of the Marathi channel that had lost its sheen   All the hard work done by the Director of the channel  from 2000 to 2007 had gone down the drain. The revenue figures in 2000 were around 14 crores. The hard work put in by the leadership from 2000 on wards took the revenue to nearly 40 crores. And then began the slide. Still DD Sahyadri manage to hold on its own due to the strong foundation that had been laid from 2000 to 2007.
But DD Sahyadri is Back with a bang.
